Inner Teachings of Ramana Maharshi (audios)
Regina began to listen to Ramana Maharshi as an inner Teacher on February 12, 2009. Here is how Ramana came to be her teacher, in her own words:
“First of all, I have never been a student of his and I never imagined that I would be. I knew next to nothing about Ramana Maharshi. But around January 25 I was feeling that I had hit some kind of plateau and I was not progressing on the spiritual path like I had in the past. In fact, I felt I was losing the connection and ego was growing stronger in my mind. So I said a prayer and asked Holy Spirit to send me something that would take me to the next step.
“On January 30 I felt spontaneously guided to buy a book by Ramana Maharshi. The book came within a few days but I did not feel guided to read it. I glanced at it, but found it very difficult to understand. I had no real atttraction to his teaching.
“Ramana’s book sat on the coffee table by where I meditate for a week or so, then on Febraury 12 the picture of Ramana that is on the cover of the book seemed to come alive. It seemed to breathe. I ignored this for a bit, but the feeling of aliveness kept growing. So finally I asked, “What do you want to tell me?” And the “Commentary on mind” message of Febraury 12 came. He has been my inner Teacher ever since. He seems to have come in answer to my prayer that I be taken to the next step.”

During this teaching we looked at a message from inner Ramana, sections in A Course in Miracles, and we read from The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI). All of these sources pointed to the same answer as we asked, “Who is the guru/teacher?” and “Who am I?”

The message helps us see how the purification process can be helpful to awakening while also helping us to see that Self is perfect now and doesn’t need purification. Several listeners experienced deep realizations while listening to this teaching.

Through spiritual study we learn that we must let go of false self if we are to know true Self. Yet, we continue to hold to the belief that we are what we are not. Why? 7/4/09 How to awaken from the dream
This teaching from inner Ramana recommends “living from within” as a practice that leaves ego behind and enables the devotee to live and function while listening to only one Voice. This teaching is the same as Jesus’ recommendation that we live in the world, but be not of the world. Inner Ramana teaches that this practice is the way to awaken from the dream by not participating in it.
