It is simple then…

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Holy Spirit: It is simple then. There is nothing outside of you. Nothing you see is outside of you. You have brought it all into your mind for only one purpose, and that is to awaken the mind to what it is. Everything you do, you do for you. Everything you do, you do for you. Do not lose this perspective and you shall use everything in your awareness for the purpose you have given it…for the purpose you have brought it to you for.

Fear and resistance reside within the mind, but these are not your enemies. Do not fight them. They were made by you, and in fighting them you forget this fact. In fighting them you separate yourself from yourself, and this only generates more fear because it is a completely unnatural idea. You fear the unnatural, because you know it isn’t true. The fear of your Self is the core of all fear. This is why you must be honest with yourself. You cannot lie to yourself and trick yourself, and live without fear also. You can only live without fear by being completely honest with yourself.

The way to be honest is to start here and now, right where you are. Do not wish to be somewhere else in some other situation or some other state of mind. That wish is a lie and will create fear. It is a lie because you are right where you choose to be. Acknowledging this is honesty.

Once you acknowledge that you are where you want to be, remember why you are there. This is also honesty. Remembering why you are there is the perspective of true honesty, which allows all things to be used for the purpose you have truly given it. To use it for any other purpose is to avoid and pretend, and this will create fear.

Remember that all work is done in the mind, so listen carefully… very, very carefully to your own mind. Do not feel that you need to be quick to answer or speak or react to a world that seems outside the mind. To answer too quickly is to believe the world. Notice the mind. What do you find there? Is it a true thought or is it false? Does it tell you there is something to fear? If so, that is a false thought. Rest in trust and let it go. Rest in trust and let it go.

Be aware of your judgments. Judgments come from fear and fear comes from judgments. Relinquish all judgments now by seeing them as false.

I see fear in your mind now. It is strong, and now you are seeing it also. Do not judge yourself for fear. Rest, and return your mind to Me. You need not fight fear. Indeed, you need not fight fear because that is resistance, and that is fear.

You need to love yourself, forgive yourself, be gentle through non-judgment and calming through understanding. As you love yourself, fear shall subside. Then you shall pass without fear and walk where you thought you would not walk. In peace, you shall embrace the light you thought you would not embrace.

Start today by reading this many times. Take it in deeply. The mind will try to tell you that you must effort through the fear, but this is not true and this will take you no where. Resting in trust and remembering that you are only looking at your mind will take you where you choose to go. The slow way is the fast way. The peaceful way is the way to peace.

Blessings. I am with you always. I hold your hand and guide your thoughts. Listen to Me. Listen only to Me, and you step forward in trust.

How do we overcome addictive fears?

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Question: Please teach us how to stop listening to our addictive fears. I make this request in love and through a desire to know only thy Self.

Answer: Addictive fears are those same fears that come into your mind repeatedly over a period of time. They are the fears that scare you the most, because you believe they are true. They are the fears that seem to have evidence within your world, the fears that have already become manifest in your experience. Addictive fears are fears you are living now, and you cannot seem to turn your mind away from them because the evidence of your fear is a constant reminder that the fear you fear is real.

There are two ways to overcome addictive fears: faith and knowledge.

Faith is the first level of overcoming addictive fear. Faith works because you are that which you are. Faith works even if you do not have knowledge. It doesn’t matter what you put your faith in. It could be faith in God, faith in a person, faith in therapy or magic, incantation or medicine…but if you have faith in anything as a means of taking away that which you fear, that which you fear shall be taken away. You may not be aware that it was taken away through your faith, but your faith is the power that led to the change in experience.

Knowledge is the second level of healing or overcoming addictive fear. Knowledge as a means of healing is most useful to the mind because it teaches the mind that the truth is always true. Knowledge need not be complete in order to be useful for this purpose. Incomplete knowledge can be combined with faith, and a powerful teaching formula is enacted within the mind.

The knowledge that is helpful to your awakening is the knowledge that you are the power you call mind. When you realize that mind is your power and everything else is its effect, you realize there is nothing to fear. You realize there is only choice, and you are the one who chooses.

When your knowledge in this lifetime is near its completion, you will make a choice and see its effects immediately. But when this knowledge seems to be building within your mind…that is, when you are still accepting that the truth about you is true…you will seem to make a choice with fear and doubt still in the mind, so the effects of your choice may seem to take time. Do not let this discourage you. Continue to make the choice in faith. You are learning that which you desire to learn. You are learning that effects are the result of your choice. Even in the lack of immediacy, you are learning this, because you know there is fear in your mind and you can see the fear reflected in what seems to be a delay in results.

Do not lament the delay in results. Instead, rejoice. Rejoice that you are learning the truth is true! As you rejoice in this evidence, your fear will diminish and you will accept that mind is all there is. As you accept that mind is all there is, your desire to master the mind shall increase through love, and the effects that blossom forth out of love shall teach you the knowledge you rejoice in knowing.

The truth shall set you free because you are free. In this knowledge you know the sweet, sweet taste of your freedom.

Why do we fear God?

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Hello Dear Friends,

NTI Revelation, Chapter 16, verse 15 says:

“Fear is merely illusion that indicates you have slipped into judgment again. Wake yourself up and remember the stillness. In remembering is all fear undone.”

I think this passage is really important for all of us.

Yesterday, Holy Spirit shared a message with me about my fear of my wants. In that message, Holy Spirit said:

“To see the miraculous results you desire, let go of fear. But fear
cannot be let go if you hold to the thought that you are undeserving.”

Another way of wording that might be, “But fear cannot be let go if you persist in self-judgment.”

Like I said, I think this is a really important message. I am slowing down my pace a bit lately. I want to slow down and watch my mind much more carefully. I want to see where I am not loving myself by judging myself. What I am discovering is that self-judgment is a grand habit that is not seen unless we look carefully for it. Here are a few things that we may casually judge ourselves for everyday:

-the body or specific parts of the body
-the headache
-the dirty windows (or floor, or refrigerator, or whatever)
-on-going lack of money
-not hearing Holy Spirit
-clearly hearing and listening to ego
-feeling hateful towards a family member
-sleeping too much, eating too much, or watching too much TV
-not meditating as much as I used to
-spending too much time meditating and not getting other things done
-hurting someone else’s feelings
-not being “perfect”
-not being as good at cooking or singing or craft-work as someone else
-not exercising, not exercising enough, exercising too much
etc.

I could probably sit here and add to this list all day, but you get the point. Every time we accept these habitual thoughts into the mind, we are teaching ourselves that we are unworthy or undeserving of love. This is why we fear. After all, if we are undeserving of God’s love…possibly even deserving of His wrath…we are in a pretty vulnerable place and we damn well better fear. At least, that’s what the ego teaches.

But Holy Spirit teaches another message. Holy Spirit teaches there is nothing to fear and the only reason we fear is because we continually judge ourselves. God is not judging us. We are. And so, we fear God.

Do you see what I mean when I say that this passage is important for all of us?

Here’s something else that Holy Spirit said to me yesterday:

“So the core of your work now is to love yourself…to see yourself through the Eyes that I have.”

How do we love ourselves? We let go of judgments and we accept the Holy Spirit’s evaluation of us as the true evaluation.

Hello Dear Friends,

I would like to share this post with you from the NTI Discussion Group. This post goes hand-in-hand with my teaching last week on the tiny mad idea. It seems to be a key lesson for me now.

We are free

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Hello Dear Friends,

The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI) asks us to love the world. I remember when I was scribing NTI, someone wrote that she was reading NTI and really enjoying it, but whenever NTI suggested that we should love the world, she doubted NTI altogether. Another friend suggested that she stop reading NTI and stick with A Course in Miracles (ACIM). I understand that thinking, because I once thought that way too.

You see, when I read about the tiny mad idea in ACIM, I felt guilty for it…as if I had done something wrong. Then I projected that guilt onto everything in the world, so I felt guilty for enjoying anything in the world including a beautiful sunset or a majestic mountain range. It was as if I saw the creation of the world as a sin, and so I felt that enjoying anything in the world was wrong.

Now I see that my perception was wrong.

God loves us and made us perfectly free to experience anything we want to experience. There are no restrictions what-so-ever on us. Our Will and God’s Will are one. Anything in the mind that tells us we are guilty is simply misperception. There is no guilt. We are free! But it does seem to be our own judgment of ourself that keeps us from enjoying our own experiences. We don’t let ourselves be happy. And that’s ok, if we want to continue the experience of not being happy, but is that what we truly want?

What I truly want now is to know my freedom…to know my joy…to know my Father…to know only Love. And because I know this is what I truly want, I also want to awaken. I don’t want to awaken because the world is bad and I am bad for dreaming. I want to awaken because I want to know my own freedom and my own joy again, and I want to know them fully.

This reminds me of a message that Holy Spirit gave me in June 2005. Here’s that message again:

Lightening.
It shall strike like lightening,
your recognition will.
And then your eyes will be opened wide,
and you will see,
and you will laugh.
It will be a deep, deep belly laugh,
but it will come from the Heart.
And it shall express your joy for all to hear.
It shall be a song as lovely as the birds’ morning songs of joy.
Awake!, it shall roar,
Awake, my brothers.
Look!
We are free.
Ha – ha – ha – ha – ha.

If you are feeling guilty for the tiny mad idea, for the creation of the world or for loving the world and you would like to learn that all guilt is a misperception, consider listening to yesterday’s NTI Study Group teaching. It is the teaching dated 8/9/07 on the NTI Study Group page of this website.

About the body & self-hatred

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Hello Dear Friends,

I realize through conversations with many of you that many of us share a common obstacle to awakening. We are consumed with self-hatred which seems to be caused by the bodies we experience as ourself.

I made a post to the NTI Discussion Group today about this obstacle to awakening. If you are interested in reading it, please click here.

Why do we listen to the ego?

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Question: Why do we believe the ego when everything it says is untrue? How can we shift into not believing what it says?

Answer: I am glad you asked this question. Understanding the answer to this question is very important to realizing who you are.

You listen to the ego because you want to. I know this may not seem true at the conscious level, but it is true or you could not hear the ego at all.

The ego is not real. It is nothing that could be heard if you did not give yourself the ability to hear it. This ability, which you give yourself, is best called imagination. But it is divine imagination, which can seem very real within the experience of imagination itself. Still, it is imagination.

Just as a child imagines everything that happens in a game of imaginary play, you imagine everything the ego seems to say to you. And just as the child desires to imagine everything she imagines in her play, you desire to imagine everything the ego says to you. This is important to accept. Denial of this truth only keeps you in the feeling of victim, which is the belief of being trapped in your own play. As long as you hold to the idea of powerlessness, you surrender the idea of your power and remain trapped by your own choice.

Begin to release the ego by accepting that you choose everything it says to you. Look at every fear and at every accusation it places in your mind and say to yourself, “I chose this thought because I wanted to know the experience.” Then ask yourself, “What do I want now?”

Don’t ask yourself this question too lightly. Don’t let the answer come too quickly form the surface of your mind. Take time to go deep within to the core of your soul…to the center of your true heart and ask, “What do I want now?” When you find the answer to this question you will know it, because it will rise up with a recognition that will cause every cell in your body to stand with attention and sing.

Once you have the answer to the question, “What do I want now,”look back at the content of the ego thought in your mind. What is it trying to teach you? Is it teaching your consciousness that which you would have consciousness learn? If not, it is not a thought you want now. It is the residual thought of an experience you chose before, but an experience you are choosing against now.

With this realization in mind, remember that everything you experience comes to you through your choice. Remember how you truly want to experience now, and with the power and love of God that backs every decision you make, look at the thought you do not want and say, “I do not choose this thought today. This is a thought I do not want now because this is not how I would experience myself any longer.”

The content of these words is important, because they do not deny the fact that the thought is in your mind because you once chose to experience the feelings the thought has to offer. This is important, because in not denying this, you are recognizing your Self. And now, with the true recognition of your Self in your mind, you can choose again with confidence and assurance, and this will surely bring a smile of remembrance to your face.

This way of choosing not to listen to the ego may seem difficult and tiresome at first, but these feelings of change will not last. This is only the transition of choosing again. It takes some seeming effort to take a grand and divine motion and turn it in an opposite direction. But this effort is not a battle or a war, so do not slip into believing it is. It is a divine choice and a thing of beauty. Respect your power as you push to turn your own motion in another direction. Be in awe of everything you are and everything you create. In this way, you choose with love. And in choosing with love, you continue to push the force of motion in the direction you would have it go now.
