Dear Friends, Someone with cancer has written to me asking for help. When I asked the Holy Spirit how to respond to the request for help, I was told to ask this question on behalf of this person: How do I let go of fear? So, I asked that question on this person’s behalf. The answer is given below for everyone. With Love, Regina
Question: How do I let go of fear?
Answer: Fear seems real because your mind believes it is real. It seems that its effects are real, which seems to generate more fear. But, neither fear nor its effects are real. You are real. This is what you need to accept as you strive to let go of fear.
Whenever you fear, you fear something. You fear something that you believe is an obstacle to your peace and joy. You believe something that is not of you has power over you, when you are giving it power through the acceptance of fear.
When you feel fear, I ask you to start by taking a deep breath. Take many deep breaths if that is helpful. Our purpose is to rest the mind from the thoughts that rattle it. You create the fear experience by enabling fear-thoughts, so we are reversing the process by resting the mind, which disables the rattling fear-thoughts.
When you feel the mind has settled, turn your mind to Me. You do this, not by thinking of Me as something separate from you, but by thinking of Me as your true desire, which is the deepest desire of the heart. As you get in touch with true desire, you get in touch with Me, for I am your true desire and your true desire is Me.
As your true desire wells up within your mind, you realize the only desire of the heart. As you realize this only desire, you remember there is nothing you want more than the consistent peace of God. As you remember there is nothing you want more than the consistent peace of God, you become willing to live every experience in order to clear the blocks to knowing the presence of peace always.
Now, with your true desire filling you up, look back at the circumstance you fear. This circumstance is a gift, an opportunity to let go of the fear that stands between you and consistent awareness of peace. All you want is to use the circumstance to release fear and know peace.
Hold My Hand within your mind by holding to your true desire. Let the fear rise up and pass you by without reaching out to cling to it. Imagine yourself in an exorcism, but keep your eyes fixed firmly on the Light, which is all that shall remain when the exorcism is complete.
When you find the mind rattled again by fear, you have slipped from releasing it to believing it again. That’s ok. It is an error that is easily corrected. You rest the mind through breathing again, and return yourself to the true desire that is Me.
Sometimes fear may seem to be insurmountable, but that is never true. It is only as insurmountable as your decision to tolerate it. As you take away the decision to trust fear by choosing to trust Me instead, it’s insurmountability collapses. It becomes only a matter of patience until all fear has been released.
Never is there darkness without end. Always, night dawns into a new day. Hold tightly to this thought as you release the fear that seems to keep you caught in the night.
Rejoice at the opportunity given you. It is a part of your true desire, for as you release the blocks to Love’s presence, Love’s presence shines more clearly in and through you, because in your truth, you are Love.
