This day is fresh

Monday, February 1st, 2010

The day is fresh. All staining that seemed to occur is misperception (in the first place) and in the past (in the second place). Today is fresh.

What shall one do with a fresh new day? What does one want to do with it? God would never ask you to do something you did not want to do.

Ask yourself, “What do I want to do with this day?” Recognize that the answer to this question is yours. It was not coerced upon you. It came from your Heart.

Then ask your Heart to join you in partnership in making this day be exactly the day you want it to be.

Learning to look toward the one Answer

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

The fearful self is a mirage. One cannot see that while believing the stories, the world and the self, so one believes is fearful. But the true Self is never fearful. It has simply projected its attention into an outer experience and the outer experience seems to become the self.

One way to learn that the true Self is not fearful is to allow the experience of fear to its completion. This may seem very difficult while one believes the story, the world and the self, because one also believes that, a fearful and threatening situation will come to fruition. While believing in this way, one will not notice that even if a situation of the world comes to fruition, Self has not been threatened or changed at all.

Another way to learn that the true Self is not fearful is to discover what the true Self is. This is a process of awareness-recognition, since true Self cannot be taught but it can be recognized.

True Self is not individual, but one may begin to recognize the invulnerability or eternal nature of true Self without yet recognizing the full nature of Self. This step of recognition is helpful, because it removes or reduces fear as a distraction, which simultaneously allows a fuller reflection/contemplation or focus on Self. This enables additional discovery of what Self is.

If one sees fear as a distraction to knowing one’s Self, one may be willing to allow the distraction or obstacle to be removed. However, most people who are focused on fear are not motivated enough by desire to know Self to allow this desire to be fully motivating.

However, one may be motivated by ideas such as release from fear…true happiness…consistent peace. The error has been thinking that these goals can be satisfied by changes in the world. This is why a first step must often be an understanding of the purpose and nature of the world. When one realizes the world can never bring the answer, one is finally ready to begin looking in the direction of the only solution, which is here and now. It is the nature of Self.

When ego ends …

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

When ego ends you may not be aware of it, because when ego ends there is no “I” to think “I do not have an ego.”

Some awareness of loss of ego may arise when you witness the expression of “you” and “I” as separate ideas by another. But because the idea is dead in you, the awareness will have no effect. The mirror-reflection that seems to be an “other” will not suddenly become an other for you. But you will see that the idea is not fully dead, and you will hear the expression of the idea as a call to speak only of its falseness.

Dropping me

.!.

Since receiving the guidance to move from "doubter" state of mind, which my friend Christian calls "the questioner," to Abiding, I have had two experiences. I have had the experience of abiding naturally and I have had the experience of a "me" that is trying very hard to regain control.

Another friend commented that I sounded tired when I taught on Sunday night. I think this is why. "Me" struggling for control makes "me" tired. When I am fully abiding, the tiredness naturally disappears. I felt that shift occur near the end of Sunday night's teaching, but because "me" is struggling so hard, the shift wasn't immediate at the beginning of teaching as it often is.

I've also noticed that "me" is thinking a lot of spiritual thoughts. ~ha ha~ Certainly there is a purpose for this. When I have decided to let go of world and "me", "me's" only chance of survival is to divert attention with spiritual thinking. However, I cannot be so easily fooled if I remain focused on true desire for true awakening. I can feel the difference between "me" thinking spiritually and true letting go of "me" so I can enter into another flow...one that many would call Holy Spirit.

Yesterday a friend called with a suggestion...which I feel was guidance. That suggestion was to write. This morning when I awoke with "me" thinking spiritually, I put "me" aside by grabbing my notebook and willing to write with that other flow that I previously would have called Holy Spirit, Ramana or Jesus. I felt the familiar flow come, and this is what was said:

Thinking can be very wrong, even when it seems spiritual…seems right. My purpose is to put the ego aside completely and be led by God-awareness. (This first line written was an act of putting aside the thinking “me”. After this line was written, the flow started.)

This is right-thinking. Right-thinking is noticing that “I” comes up first as “my identity” or “me”, and putting it aside so another flow that does not come from “my identity” or “me” can rise up.

The second flow…the one that arises when “me” is placed aside, may be described as feeling universal or feeling like a Voice that belongs equally to everyone. It has no specific identity of “me”. It is your Voice, My Voice, his Voice, her Voice and that Voice all at the same time. It speaks for all and is the Voice of all. This is the Voice you want to get to know, feel and listen to.

Previously when writing with this Voice you called it Him or “other-than-me”. Now the Voice will be used differently. It will be used to drop “me.”

Resistance to this step is natural. When you see/feel resistance as a loss of connection with this Voice and as a scramble to re-identify with “me”, don’t fight it; don’t judge it; just observe it in stillness and realize what it is. It is resistance to dropping “me”. Patience and willingness and a continued desire to reconnect with the universal non-me is the best way to overcome this resistance.

Yes, it may seem tough at times. At times “me” may feel very firm and being not-me may seem like an impossibility. But when that is the case remember you’ve been “not-me” many times; remember how natural and You-ness that has felt. Know that what is natural must return. Watch “me” die as universal You becomes I/we without “me”.

Watch it happen. Trust it is happening. Don’t step away from participating in its happening. The way “me” participates is through surrender to You and through patient waiting for You to rise and guide naturally.

That is today’s guidance as I continue to watch resistance to surrender, which is also resistance to relinquishment of ego. And that’s ok.

(note: “You” in this message is synonymous with the “true I”, which often comes through this person as “we”. It’s funny how “You”, “I” and “we” can be synonymous, but I’ve noticed for some time that feels true when my mind is with the universal…the right-mind…the Holy Spirit. We are one, so those pronouns all mean the same thing, and they are used as it feels most appropriate or most natural to use them in the moment.)

Letting go of inner Ramana

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Hi Friends,

This morning as I was catching up on this week’s devotional reading from NTI, a thought came into my mind. The thought was, “It’s time for Ramana to die.”

I recognized this thought immediately as true, and I felt a twinge of sadness as I surrendered and let go of this most recent symbol given to me for awakening.

Some of you know the story of how Ramana Maharshi seemed to show up within me as an inner-Teacher on February 12 of this year. (If you don’t know the story and are interested, it is briefly written on this page .)

If you heard me talk about this experience of meeting Ramana within, you also heard me say that Ramana was my Self…the real me or core of me…and more my Self than any other feeling/knowledge I had known. Ramana was my Self without additional and unnecessary symbols. He was naked; he was the naked Self that I am.

Except…there was one additional symbol that was not needed, and that was the symbol of Ramana.

NTI Revelation, Chapter 1 says:

“The world is an illusion, and so everything you experience as you let go of the world is illusion also. You are not to believe any of it. But helpful symbols will be given to guide you. Remember that they are only symbols. Follow them, realizing you know not where they lead.

“Do not idolize anything within the world or any symbol or any thought that is sent to lead you from the world. Hold to them as they are useful, but let them go when their usefulness has past. You are to keep moving by letting go until you find yourself with nothing left to hold onto.” –end quote

Two weeks ago I received guidance to let go of the “doubter” state of mind and simply “abide.” (Click here to listen to that guidance.)

In order to do this, the symbol of an inner teacher called Ramana must be let go.

After receiving guidance this morning to let go of Ramana, the guidance was confirmed when I felt to randomly open “Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi.” I opened the book and my eyes landed on this question and answer:

“Disciple: ‘How long is a Guru necessary for Self-Realisation?’

“Maharshi: ‘Guru is necessary as long as there is laghu. Laghu is due to the self-imposed but wrong limitation of the Self. God, on being worshiped, bestows steadiness in devotion which leads to surrender. On the devotee surrendering, God shows His mercy by manifesting as the Guru. The Guru, otherwise God, guides the devotee, saying that God is in you and He is the Self. This leads to introversion of the mind and finally to realisation.’” — end quote (from Talk 70)

I have been criticized for teaching that Jesus is a symbol. But Jesus is a symbol. Jesus is a symbol for our Self. Jesus points in the direction of what we are, and as we near what we are, we are guided to drop symbols. We may also be guided from one symbol to another as I was, but eventually we are guided to drop all symbols that stand between us and realization of the one Self.

As NTI Revelation teaches, helpful symbols are sent to guide us. We are to follow them, because guiding us is their purpose. We are also asked to remember that they are symbols, so they do not become idols, since all idols are obstacles to realization. It is also helpful to remember that what they are is what we are. When Jesus speaks my truth, I am also speaking my truth. When Ramana points to removing final obstacles, my Self is pointing the way.

Each one will know when it is time to let go of a symbol that has been given to guide him/her. Until then, I recommend feeling grateful for the symbol and grateful to the symbol, while also remembering that the symbol will eventually lead beyond itself.

In Love,
Regina

Moving from “resister” to abiding in Self

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Hi Friends,

I’d like to share a new teaching that came to me & through me yesterday. This teaching uses a symbol that teaches a continuum of shifting from one state of mind, called resister, to another state of mind, called doubter, to a third state, called abiding.

To listen to this 26-minute audio, click here.

Note: This teaching was part of a longer teaching. If you would like to hear the full 90-minute teaching, play the teaching dated 5/27/09 at this link.
